CHLOE

This cute little girl is Chloe. She's a fawn horsecoat. She is an owner turn in and doesn't understand why she's not with her family any more. She warms up very quickly, though, to new people. We don't have Chloe's medical records yet, so we don't know if she has been on heartworm preventive or not. She will be tested as soon as my vet gets back in town. Chloe is housetrained and likes other dogs.

Chloe is 1 1/2 years old and weighs 44 lbs. Apparently she has sprained her right knee at some point because she has a little arthritis in it. She's taking glucosamine daily for it. Other than that, she is a healthy, well adjusted girl.

7/20/07: Good news from the doctor. Chloe is heartworm negative! She does need her eyes fixed so we've scheduled it for Thursday.

7/27/07: Chloe's eyes have been done and she's ready for her forever home. Chloe is very sweet and loves people. She's really missing her family so we'd like to get her placed as soon as possible.

1/29/08: We placed Chloe on Friday but unfortunately she exhibited separation anxiety behavior and had to be returned on Sunday. We feel, for a successful placement, we need to mimic Chloe's situation here in her new home. That involve access to a fenced yard from the house, like with a pet door. Chloe never showed signs of SA until she didn't have access to the outside as well as the inside. If you have this kind of set up and want to give this girl a second chance, please get in touch with us. She's a sweetheart with this one little flaw.

9/8/08: Chloe had a second chance at a new home today, but she didn't do well with the family's other dogs. So, Chloe will need to be the only dog in her new home. She is so good with people, but she just can't trust other dogs - probably has something to do wtih what happened to her in her previous life.

We require that a home visit by a volunteer be done prior to adoption. The purpose of the home visit is to ensure that the information given during the adoption process is correct and that the home is the right match for the dog being adopted. The home visit also gives adopters a chance to ask questions about the adoption process.

The adoption fee for Chloe is $150, which helps to offset the cost of her medical care.

If you have trouble filling out our application, please let us know and we will be happy to provide you with an application via email or "snail" mail.
