FERGIE

8/25/07: This girl was turned into the shelter almost a week ago as an owner surrender. Here's the story: Theguy got the kids a couple of pups (the other pup is an adorably sweet yellow mix), and low and behold, the kids lost interest after a few months. Imagine that. Fergie was kept in the house while she was a cute little pup, then banished to an outdoor pen when the puppy wore off - you've heard it all before.

Anyway, Fergie is a black brushcoat female, approximately 7 months old. She's very friendly, playful and good with other dogs. Her tail is rather bushy, so she might have a little something else mixed in; but she sure is smart like a Pei. It took her all of 2 minutes to learn how to use the pet door.

Fergie will be spayed in a week or so, then she'll be ready for her new home - hopefully one where she'll have kids or other dogs to play with!

Look at her beautiful, shiny coat.

Isn't she cute?

8/30/07: Fergie was spayed today and had her eyes fixed, so she's ready for her new home!

1/20/08: Fergie is in her new home in Rhode Island. She left Atlanta yesterday with two very nice transport people who took her to her mom and dad, Mindy and Joe. Way to go, Fergie. Stay warm!!!!

Isn't she a pretty girl?

7/22/08: Hi Cindy.  Just wanted to drop a line about Fergie.  She's doing VERY well, no problems at all.  She's made lots of friends with all of my families dogs.  And she's definitely getting more comfortable around everyone.  Not a shy gal anymore!  Last night she played with a tennis ball, BY HERSELF, for 35 minutes...no exaggeration!  She kiicks it and then chases it over and over and over.  It's very cute.  Here's a recent pic of her, she's a cutie!!!
