ROCKY

10/23/07: Rocky is a beautiful fawn horsecoat with a big head. He is gorgeous! And what a clown!! He's young, probably a year or so, and loves life. He's good with other dogs, big/small/male/female. He's 50 lbs and has no skin issues at all. His coat is very pretty.

3/12/08: We placed Rocky last October and almost as soon as he realized he was away from his friends, he developed separation anxiety. The family did their very best to help him through this, but they just couldn't turn him around. So, Rocky came back to us in February. Since then he has not exhibited any anxiety at all, but the set up is very different to what he reacted so strongly to. Here, he is with other dogs all the time and he has access to the fenced yard through the pet door. He does not have run of the house. He is behind a gate and doesn't seem bothered by it at all. He's a happy, healthy boy as long as he has this arrangement. So, if you have a similar set up and would like to give Rocky a great home, please fill out our adoption application.

Rocky is a very lovable fellow. He likes everybody, especially kids, and he loves other dogs. He also passed his obedience class with flying colors!

5/21/08: The Rock Man is on his way to his new home in Indiana. He'll be living with his new family - Cecelia, his mom, and Nala, his playmate. Just before Rocky left, he got a package in the mail from his former family, so he was able to take new toys and delicious treats with him to Indiana. Way to go, Rocky!

5/27/08: Hi Cindy ...we just came back from mom's after playing with my sister's wolf dog Max. Rocky had such a good time. He is adapting well. He does however want to be with me whether it be in the house or outside. He has much the same personality as Choco in that respect. He loves to play. Choco and Nala were both older when I got them so he is a handful. A pleasent handful though. Julie's (my sister) dog is young also, so they really hit it off and got alot of exercise today. Mom has a five foot fenced yard that is 2-lots. Quite a bit of room to run. Her shar-peis stay in the house and she also has my brothers lab kenneled right now because it keeps digging out of his kennel. She rotates the dogs everyday in the yard so they each get their daily exercise. It was nice because mom's dogs are not to social and Max never had anyone to play with. Rocky and him hit it off great. Needless to say he wears Nala out and she lets him know that she is the boss. He has not figured out that he is much stronger than she is. He is resting at my feet now.  poor tired baby. any word on Lola? How are the pupies doing? Rocky seems to be doing fine when I am at work too. Mom usually lets nala and him out to pee later in the evening and when I get home I yell in and tell them that "Mama's home" and they both come running. He was what we needed to complete our family. He chews through one of those good dog toys a day though to get the stuffing out. I am trying to break him of that and to play nicer with the toys. He is learning how to be a little gentler when I'm around, but you know how kids are when their parents are gone. He is really a joy though. Keep in touch always glead to here from you.  Cecelia

6/11/08: Just wanted to let you know that Rocky is doing fine. I have a pond that is about 26in. deep at one end and maybe 18 in. deep at the other end. He has managed to come back in the house wet a few times. I have not seen him fall in ... but ... he has been really wet when I let him in. My sister was one of the flood victims in Martinsville In. so I now have her dog for about 3mo. Shintu is Rocky's age or maybe a few months younger. He is very trim though where Rocky is a good 50 lbs, he is only around 40 lbs. They are having the time of their lives. My yard is very large and they run around the house and jump and play all day. They are dead tired by the time they come back in in the evening. And then the rough housing takes place in the house until about 11:00 at night. It is good for both dogs to be able to play and romp like that with each other. Nala looks like a grandma following behind in the yard (walking fast, and panting) and then barking at them like she is scolding them for romping to much. It is really comical to watch. He still jumps the gate when I turn my back though. I really need to be a little stricter on him, but, like all kids, he knows how to play me. He really is quite good though. He is just all BOY. Thanks again for bringing that bundle of sunshine back into Nala and my lives. I doubt if he ever loses much weight though because he cleans any of the bowls that have food left. He also knocks the bowls over and covers the food up to hide it from the others. He is only the 2nd dog that I have had that has done that. I am in search for a HEAVIER bowl now. I tried those angled bottomed ones but he pushes his nose and head down hard and tips them over. He is very smart.  Cecelia

7/21/08: Hi Cindy ..... just wanted to let you know that Rocky is doing fine. I still have my sisters dog because she was flooded out in Martinsville and has no home at present. She is looking to buy another house, hopefully by the end of August and then she will have to put a fence up so I may have Shintu for a while. Nala is still like mother hen over the two and settles them down when they get to roudy. I have two the same age which makes things rather busy around here. They both jump on the furniture and chew up everything. What one doesn't think of the other does. But both dogs are very happy and get plenty of exercise. The other day they were both up on the hot tub cover enjoying the morning shade. They are both rotten. Hows things with you? Cecelia
