4/9/08: This little red bear coat only weighs 23.5 lbs - tiny little thing. When we got her from the shelter, her hair was so matted that we had to almost shave her in some places. That's why she looks rather funny in the 'after' pictures. She will be beautiful when her fur grows back. Scarlett likes other dogs, but she is a little wary of men. Scarlett will be spayed and have her eyes fixed soon; then she'll be ready for her forever home!
4/19/08: Scarlett was spayed, had her eyes fixed and rear dew claws removed last Thursday. So she's ready for her new home. She is a sweetheart, but she does need a patient family to help her gain her confidence. Are you that family?
5/4/08: This little girl is a spitfire! She's definitely an alpha female, so she'll need a home with a submissive male or female or no other dogs. She loves to play with other dogs, though, so it would be a shame for her not to have a playmate. We just have to find the right one.
7/12/08: We're having to pull back on adopting Scarlett. She's still terrified of men and has bitten my husband twice, so we have a lot more rehab to do with her. And unfortunately it might turn out that she isn't adoptable or that she is adoptable but only to a specific home. We don't know yet. We'll keep working with her so check back. |
