TATER

6/30/08: Tater is an 8 month old Shar Pei / Lab mix. He is incredibly sweet and loving, especially when you consider the fact that he has spent most of his short life in a shelter. He was turned in as a stray (with no hair) when just a baby. He was eventually adopted and lived in what would have been his forever home for two months. He was returned because his people had no time for him. After spending months in the shelter again, he was rescued by an angel from Tennessee Shar Pei Rescue and is being fostered here in Ohio.
Tater has a great personality, gets along great with other dogs. He loves to play with “stuffies” and rag bones. I’m not sure how he is with cats, I have one but since he’s unfamiliar, he runs every time he sees him. He is great with small children too, loves my toddler granddaughter. As you can see above, he enjoys being comfortable. He loves to sleep on the bed with his human, but is also happy to lay beside it. We are working on crate training and not pulling while on a leash and doing quite well with both. He is 98% housebroken, has had a couple of minor incidents but mostly because I did not understand what he was telling me! He now knows to go to the door and ask to go out.
Tater has been neutered and micro chipped and all of his shots are up to date. He does best on foods with no wheat (loves Purina One) and requires flea control to eliminate Flea Bite Dermatitis.

UPDATE 8/11/08 from Tater's foster mom: Just wanted to send you the most current picture of our "little" Tater! His coat is filled in now and quite glossy. His is still a big goof though! His crate training has gone well and he is getting better at not dragging me all over the yard. He is learning "off" and usually listens, except when he gets pei headed! Will keep you updated! Robin
PLEASE, shut off that camera flash! I'm trying to get some sleep~~
We require that a home visit by a volunteer be done prior to adoption. The purpose of the home visit is to ensure that the information given during the adoption process is correct and that the home is the right match for the dog being adopted. The home visit also gives adopters a chance to ask questions about the adoption process.
The adoption fee for Tater is $200.
