Grace

2/5/2010: This sweet girl came to us by way of a shelter in Missouri along with her two sisters, Mom and Dad. All but Grace went to another Shar Pei rescue group in New Hampshire. Grace was in such bad shape, we decided to keep her here and possibly keep her forever. She is so, so sweet - loves everybody and loves other dogs. BUT, healthwise, she was a mess. She is blind in her right eye due to severe entropion that wasn't fixed. She had demodectic mange and was almost bald because of it. She had a really bad yeast infection and stunk to high heaven.

Two months later everything is fixed and Grace is a beautiful dark red brushcoat with a personality that makes you laugh. She's a lap dog and a major licker. She's a great bed fellow (yes, she's very spoiled).

Grace and Marci were best friends but after placing Marci in a great home in Mississippi, she is having trouble adjusting. She misses Grace! So, when Russell asked about adopting Grace, my first response was no, but the more I thought about it, the more I knew that Marci needs Grace more than I do. Galon and I talked it over and decided that it would be in Grace's and Marci's best interest to place her with Russell, Marci and Mr. Buddy Love.

4/26/2010: Grace left today - what a sad day for me, but not for her or Russell. She immediately took to him and was in his lap licking him non-stop. Grace will be very happy with her new family. We'll get more pictures of the whole family when Russell gets back to MS with Grace. Love you, Gracie!

6/27/2010: Grace has adjusted to her new home easily, but we knew that would happen. She's such a happy-go-lucky girl, but, of course, Russell made it easy for her. He's such a good dog owner. Any dog would be lucky to live there. Russell came to our adopters' reunion and brought all 3 pei - Mr. Buddy Love, Marcie and Grace. It sure was good to see them again.

This picture was taken at the picnic. As you can see from Grace's expression, it was HOT!
