Jax (Pistol)

 

8/2/09: Can you see why we named this little guy Pistol? He is full of himself and fearless. Pistol is Phoebe's 8-week old pup. He's a black brushcoat male. He will see the vet on Friday to begin his vaccinations, etc.

 

 

 

 

 

8/8/09: Pistol saw the doctor yesterday. He's 10 pounds and 8 weeks old. He got his first puppy vaccination. Didn't bother him. He acted like nothing had happened. He's really growing and has already learned to use the pet door. You should see him going in and out - he thinks he's a big dog!

8/21/09: We knew this little guy wouldn't be with us long. Pistol went to his new home in Atlanta today. Here's what new mom, Cynthia, reports: He is doing great! He is so sweet and lovable. He is still such a puppy and loves to chew everything, esp our clothes that we wear. He sleeps and poops A lot. He sleeps through the night but is ready to go potty and eat at 6 am!

He loves to give Sassie a run for her money. He teases her and chases her around and wants to bite her hind legs. She runs really fast and that little guy can keep up with her. They play around all of the time. It's exactly what Sass needed, she has too much energy. Everyone is very gentle with him. I promise to send pics this evening. Cynthia

 

 

9/2/09: Jax had great reviews from the vet yesterday. He is very healthy and growing fast. He weighed in at 17.4 lbs !!! According to Hans he didn’t mind the shots yesterday, what he didn’t like was being held down. : ) And since I am the disciplinary parent in the household, he and all the kids have their way with Hans! J He loves to eat but doesn’t eat a full meal at a time, he comes and goes all day. I think he eats about 1.5 cups a day, throughout the day. Which is very close to the rest of the kids, the others eat between 1.5 to two cups per day.

He is very smart, he know he can have his way with the girls and loves and respects JR, he know JR is the alpha. As much as Ginger would love to be alpha, she gives into Jr all the time! Cynthia

12/14/09: Jax is doing great after his surgery.   He is up to date on his shots and doing extremely well.  I have attached his medical records and recent pictures. 
 
Jax Update:
Little Jax is now 36 lbs and growing, he's going to be a big boy.  I remember Earl Taylor stating how huge his paws were for such a little guy.  And boy was he ever right!  At only 6 mo old, his paws are almost the size of Jr's and Jr is 70lbs!   He fit right in, he gets along great with the entire crew.  He and Jr are best buds!  He and Sassie are twins or soul mates, can't figure that one out.  He loves to run around in the back yard, Sassie is very active and has so much energy but he manages to keep up. But in the end his tongue is hanging out almost to the floor. lol ... He loves to bring in branches, the bigger the branch the better.  One day he had one so long, he couldn't figure out how to get it in the door, it was too cute!  He is fully potty trained and great on walks.  He is however still giving puppy bites, only he no longer has puppy teeth.  :)  He gets so excited when we walk in the door that he tries to bite our toes, shoes or whatever he can.  It doesn't matter if we just go outside to check the mail, he still gets extremely excited as if we'd been gone all day! Jax is precious beyond words , we all love him so much!
