4/12/08: We're calling this big boy Jules. Jules is a handsome blue brushcoat with a wonderful personality. He loves to run, run, run in the yard. He also loves Lexie. Jules is crate trained, vaccinated and on heartworm preventive. He will be neutered and have his eyes fixed on 4/26/08, and will be ready to go to a new home soon after that. Jules is blowing his coat and will be drop dead gorgeous when he's finished doing that!
Jules and Lexie snuggling.
7/20/08: Jules is doing great.
He's such a happy boy, but he would be happier if he had his new
home. Many of his playmates have found homes already and he's
wondering why no one has picked him. Jules is 2-3 years old, very
well behaved, but he does love to play. He has a bad habit of
jumping up on you, but I'm sure when he gets into his new home,
he'll learn not to do that real quickly. He's very smart, you
know. Jules loves the ladies, but we're not sure about the boys
yet.

9/28/08: Brenna was so taken with
Jules that she cried. It was very sweet. Jules was so affectionate
to her that I knew it was a good fit. He liked Todd, too, which
is really good because all the Unicoi County boys were afraid
of men. Jules will have a wonderful new life with Brenna. He will
be able to go to work with her and will have play time in the
park and walks on the beach. What a life! Thanks, Brenna, for
giving this boy the second chance he so desperately deserves.
9/29/08: Hi Cindy,
Thank you so much for the pictures! I'll send you some, but it
will be a while until I finish the roll and have them developed.
Jules was incredibly good for the ride home. For the first 20
minutes sitting under his mouth was like sitting under a waterfall!
After that, he made a little nest for himself and settled in.
He's a great little traveler! He ate all day, at every stop, during
the ride, probably even in his sleep.
Upon getting
into Charleston, we stopped by Todd's house to run in the back
yard and meet the other dogs (Molly the Hound X and Dudley the
Basset hound). Jules checked them out cautiously but before no
time was eating and playing with them. We got back on the road
and went to my house (now Jules' house). He made himself quickly
at home prancing everywhere and hiding bones all over the place!
Bed time was no problem at all. Jules wasn't quite sure what to
do with his new dog bed, so he slept next to it! He's such a smart
little guy, I'm sure he'll learn in no time.
As of today,
Jules is a working man. He's been making everybody at the clinic
smile with his lifting of the paw and his adorable little face.
Today he weighed in at 45lbs and his eyes have been given a clean
bill of health. Ears are still to come - good thing he is such
a good patient!
So far Jules
is such a wonderful guy to have around, and this is only his 2nd
day! I can only imagine who he'll be when he gets settled in a
bit more, and I can't wait to find out.
Thank you
so much for everything that you have done for Jules, without you
and Galen I wouldn't have the joy of him in my life. I will keep
you updated with his exciting new life with pictures to come.
Again, thank you! Brenna Moffitt
10/14/08: Hi Cindy,
Wk 2 - Jules is doing great. We have gotten his ear infection
under control and now he only seems to growl at the UPS man :)
He had his first trip to PetSmart and he picked out his very own
pink polka-dot octopus that he carries around everywhere with
him, that is when he's not carrying my shoes, a bathmat, or the
runner in the hallway!
He is also doing well with other dogs, males and females. Hasn't
met one yet that he doesn't like. No more arm chewing either!
And let me tell you, he does the best 'sit' ever! Still working
on leash training.
Hope all is well with you!
-Todd, Brenna, and Jules
11/18/08: Hi cindy, sorry it's
been a while since i've given you an update on Jules and I apologize
for this being a quick one at that. Jules is doing great and boy
does he love to run in the yard! He has also become quite the
social little guy, both with other dogs and people! He has recently
discovered squeaky toys and has two favorites, one is a pink octopus
that he picked out himself at petsmart and the other is a little
squeaky bird that he'll carry around with him wherever he goes.
This little man is certainly helping to give a good name to Shar-Pei
everywhere! We love him soooooo much! Brenna
This is one handsome boy!
5/6/09: Hi Cindy, just a quick
note to say hi as it's been quite a while! Jules survived the
holidays and is now enjoying the spring weather as he just loves
to be outside. I think he staged a protest for leaving him indoors
too long yesterday (see picture)! He is such a playful, happy
and healthy little guy. Hope all is well with you. brenna
Oops!
3/6/2010: Hi Cindy, hope all is well with you. Jules is doing great and still obsessed with squirrels as usual! Brenna and Todd
